Moldova Open Challenger 100 is an international professional tennis tournament in the ATP Challenger series, held in Chișinău on the courts of the new National Tennis Center.
The tournament brings together promising players from all over the world—those who are already fighting for a place in the elite of world tennis today and will compete in the biggest ATP tournaments tomorrow.
This is where new names are born, intense matches take place, and the future of world tennis is shaped.

![On the second match day of the Moldova Open 2025 main draw, the organizers once again faced weather-related challenges. From early morning, light rain began falling around Chișinău Arena, and although the courts had been carefully prepared for a 10:00 AM start, matches had to be postponed. The first wave of play began only after 2:00 PM, and shortly after, the rain returned again, eventually disrupting the day’s schedule entirely.
Despite the delays and the cancellation of the scheduled morning broadcast on the national channel Moldova 1, the organizers responded swiftly. All doubles matches were postponed, and the singles schedule was shortened. However, several important matches were played and delivered a high level of competition.
Match of the Day: Albot vs. Berankis
The clear highlight of the day was the match between Radu Albot (MDA) and Ricardas Berankis (LTU) — two players of nearly the same age who have known each other for years, both from the tour and through joint training sessions. Long-time friends off the court, the emotional stakes were high.
The match was gripping, featuring three sets, two tiebreaks, and many spectacular rallies. Radu Albot, the tournament’s fourth seed, claimed victory in a hard-fought battle — 7:6(3), 4:6, 7:6(7). Despite their friendship, both players competed fiercely. The match was a true gem of the tournament, thrilling the crowd with emotion and intensity.

Despite weather setbacks, Moldova Open 2025 continues to demonstrate excellent organization.
